Wrapped Dipseys??

I have been using dipseys for quite a few years. I have never had this problem until this past weekend. After setting the dipsey I had at least 4 instances of a wrapped or twisted dipsey that could not release. I was fishing near bottom so I guess I may have ticked bottom on an inside turn. Will this cause a dipsey to twist around? It was a real treat to pull in an untripped dipsey with a fish on, 220 back!!!TIA

yep you touched the bottom .but you also caught more fish than me .LOL

Or you could be letting them back to fast. I learned by trial and error to let them back under drag tension with the clicker on. Gotta love the sweet sound of 4 clickers going at once.w_w.

That is true Jim, but I had a head start and twice as many rods out, well almost, I ran 7. I figured it was just the bottom contact causing it but it was bothering me so thought I would ask.
