Got the fever, can't stand it, gotta get out. Wondering if there is any shore fishing at Chamberlain or Ft. Thompson, or are the shores still iced over ? Anybody been out, doing any good ? Thinking about going next week, any reports/suggestions/opinions would be welcome. Thanx ! ! ! !

The shore line near the dam is open. Open water down to Chamberlain in the channel. Bite was ok from a boat near the dam with the best bite at Crow Creek. Water temp ranged from 34-38 degrees, and is very clear. Bring your boat....

I just had a friend of mine head to Fort Thompson yesterday. Lets just say he had heard very positive comments about the fishing.

chamberlain is always the first bite and last year around the end of april it was excellent! i fished from shore and boat and the were shallow when i was there. the water temp was warmer however. if you go, let us know how you did. i am makin a trip from rapid city to meet my bro sometime, but we are waiting to see when the pre-spawn bite takes off.
let me know

I was out there on Saturday. We fished around Crow Creek and did ok. We caught all of our fish in about a 1-2 hour time frame and the remainder of the day was slow. There were shore fisherman in a few areas along the bend to the south of Crow Creek. There were probably 40-50 boats out on Saturday. Water levels are low and the water is extremely clear. Water is open with some pockets of ice around the stump fields.
