Hey Scott, if you see this post let me know who you know that is coming? Just today I have heard that Wheels, Mexico and Kooser aren't coming. Plus no one has been responding to our posts, I really have to wonder if anyone is going to be there?

There are always people who contact you and others who show up! Work2fish and I were planning to get there Friday morning and still will if you and some of the other guys are coming?

We are not going to be able to make it either. Collie

I knew you weren't coming Collie, you actually let me know that a while back. I appreciate the fact you let me know, before it was time to go!

Been trying to reach you for three days now? I need to go over a couple of things with you. I will email you my cell phone number also.

Neal;
I can't make it this year either. I drew a mountain goat liscence this year after allpying for 20+ years, so I am spending weekends on the top of mountains scouting. Scott had to go to Lake Erie to do the live leaderboard. Looks like bad year for attendance.

Does that mean even Scott isn't going to be there?

Sure am glad I planned this thing and wasted two of my vacation days!

By the way Dennis drop me an email when you get a chance. I changed services and lost your email address.

Neal,

As we discussed, I'll be there Friday (tomorrow) afternoon. Whoever shows up, shows up and we'll give it our best shot.

Thanks guys! Myself and Work2fish were the only people who showed? That is just unimaginable to me?

There is no excuse, so don't bother!

Did you guys catch any fish?

Neal/CO

Yeah lots of carp! Shad and Perch. I have never seen a lake where the carp were so out of control? There is so much forage right now, no one I talked to caught walleye!

Neal,

Sorry things didn't work out better this year for the Get Together, I know how frustrating it can be to do all that hard work and have a poor turnout. The first year I tried to do a Butte GT it was slim pickins...

The only thing I can suggest for next year is to keep an open mind for the location. Glendo has been fishing poorly and that has been no secret. For me, it wasn't too difficult a decision, with the fishing reports from Glendo I would have had a hard time justifying the time and expense. Keyhole has had a consistent fall bite and the suggestion was made to go there instead, it was in no way to detract from the Glendo gathering, it just seems that with the poor bite, maybe somewhere else next year might generate more excitement.

Here are some photos from the Keyhole trip if anyone is interested:

Thanks again for the work and planning.

Since carp are such a highly prized game fish in Europe, maybe Glendo is a "Gold mine" as a carp destination! You guys should have trailered the boat and headed back this a way, Horsetooth has been fishing pretty good pulling cranks. Collie

But this one has been going on, what, 6 years now? So it is a bit different, don't you think?

If the location was the issue, I think it would be better to just bring this up on the forum beforehand and then we could agree to move it as a group with no one left holding the bag. This way, there are no hard feelings and we would all have a better get together with more fish being caught! I guess when I heard the suggestion to move the location (a couple of years ago?) it seemed to be a passing remark and I was not sure how serious it was...

Nice pics.

In the end, I just hope we can do better next year.

Let's just let this go! Life is to short! Next time I would appreciate the common courtesy of a couple of emails saying you won't be there, or whatever?

I for one have no intention of having another Get-Together in Wyoming!!!!!! No one from Wyoming attends anyway? We need a change of venue desperately! We can pick some new destinations and vote on them! There are some excellent fisheries in Kansas and SW Nebraska. Like Collie said we would of been better off going to Horstooth!

Neal,

As I said from the beginning, I would be "fishing somewhere in WY", I was never certain it would be Glendo.

When I asked who was attending, you indicated that there would be all the usual people who had responded to you off the board, if I had known that nobody had told you they were coming I would have tried a little harder to give you a heads up on my situation.

I'm sorry I didn't personally email you and let you know I wasn't coming to Glendo, but I was under the impression you were notified.

Looking forward to seeing where the destination will be next year, I'd still like to join the group, but it doesn't sound like it would have been much of a group this year had the three of us that went to Keyhole attended...sorry.

Don't be so quick to harsh on this lake. The fishing was great for some people this weekend. You just have to try a few different techniques and figure it out. I saw people catching nice walleye pulling cranks and lindy rigs. A tip I will pass on to you is when pulling cranks this time of year, you have to get deeper than the carp. The carp are in the top 10' of water and the walleyes were on the bottom in 15' to 20' of water. We had to get the lead out or use snap weights to get past the carp. Once we figured this out we ended up catching 15 walleye in 3 hrs and no carp.

Not harshing here. I know from experence that you need to change up and use different techniques this time of year and especialy at Glendo. A couple of years ago during the "Get Together", saturday was a good trolling bite with sunday being a good slabing bite. Collie

I tried both and couldn't get away from the carp! LOL. I even switched to #9 Shad Raps with 150 feet of line out to get below them and they were still all over the larger cranks.
