DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS LAKE? I AM THINKING ABOUT A TRIP TO THIS AREA.

i'm sure tenn. dnr has good info. the lake is right out of nashville. the chamber office # is 615-847-4516. e-mail them at mail@oldhickorychamber.org

once thought to be the home of the world record walleye...old hickory.

try going to http://www.fishin.com and post a mesage on the TN board..also check fishing reports for old hickory.

After reading about the big stripers being caught on Old Hickory, Piercy Priest and Cordell Hull, all impoundments of the Cumberland River, I planned a trip to the area. I had also read about a man who was supposedly the best stiper guide in the area. His name is Ralph Dallas and when I contacted him in 1996 his phone # was (615) 824-5792.

Dallas holds the Tennessee state record for stripers at about 63# the last I knew. When I fished with him one day we landed three stripers over 30# and lost two more, one of which probably was substantially over 30#.

I tried my hand at striper fishing the next year at the same time of year and managed to land two stripers about 30# using tactics learned from Dallas.
