Help!.. I need to replace the line on 4 of my trolling rods. I just put new Iron Silk on them about 4 weeks ago and while it has the strength on dead pull, it will not take any shock without breaking. It has cost me a bundle in tackle, dipsys, flashers, flies, crankbaits, etc. I need recommendations for a good braided line, no, or low stretch. I am using Power Pro on some rods now, but a 1500 yard spool is $$$$. Has anyone used Tuf Line, or Cabela's RipCord SI or SI Plus? I am open to any other suggestions.

The next 20 replies are going to be for Fireline or Power Pro. Go a step better. Spiderwire Stealth.

Hi,
I have one with Power Pro.2 with Regular Spider Wire. One with Whiplash.150 yds and 17 lb Silvertread as backing. With a good knot you only need 150 yds of superline.
May I be fishing somewhere Tomorrow

Thanks guys. PowerPro it is. Just got them spooled up at Gander Mountain. They gave me full credit for the Iron Silk. Service doesn't get any better than that.

Got a bad taste in my mouth from the original spider wire and haven't tried it since. Have been using Power Pro for awhile now and haven't had a problem. If you want the GOOD stuff, get Jerry Brown Spectra but you will pay for it...

Stealth is nothing like regular Spider Wire. Original is a sheathed line, this is a braid. Whole different animal. Actually, it's IDENTICAL to Power Pro with the exception that it is Teflon coated to be less abrasive on your guides and casts farther.

I have tried tuff line, good stuff. Just as good as stelth or power pro. Fire line is a little stiff for my liking,A a little thicker in dim. to, and after a little while the teflon coting come off.
the worst thing i have to say about all of these lines are.THEY FLOAT!!!!THE MORE FISHERMEN THAT YOU THEM THE MORE PIECES ARE BROKE OFF AND FLOATING AROUND. CHECK YOUR PROPS OFFEN IF ANY ONE OF THOSE SUPERLINES GET BEHIND YOUR PROP,IT WILL DESTROY A WATER SEAL FAST. AND THOSE LOWER UNITS ARE NOT CHEEP TO REPLACE, MUCH LESS GETTING BACK TO SHORE.
