Well, it finally arrived and let me say it was well worth the wait. Several informative articles:

1. Do we need closed walleye seasons?
2. Tactics for late ice eyes due to low light levels.
3. Saugeyes on ice.
4. Pre-spawn patterns in southern reservoirs.
5. Open water fishing below dams.
6. Prime time for big fish.
7. Fly in walleye trips
8. Tackle and gear topics from hair jigs to fluorocarbon line to portable heaters to swimming ice lures and jointed crankbaits.
9. My personal favorite-wader fishing at night.

Not to mention all the tournament information you guys like. This is one of the best Insiders I have seen recently. You guys that are so down on this magazine should check it out. I don't see anything else out there that is covering it this well.

I have absolutely no connections with this magazine, just enjoy the content.

WAeyes..Howdy.. I currently have a sub for the in-fisherman. I primarily walleye fish though and have been thinking about switching over to the insider.. Someone said there was an article in a past month(s) that spoke of catching larger eyes while drifting with long leaded crawler harnesses-four foot? Do you remember the atricle and which issue it was in? Thanks gilly

Does sound like about 7 or 8 of the titles of articles in the 2002 Walleye Guide.

My thoughts exactly WAeyes, always look forward to its arrival. Seem to find something in each one to get my interest and I believe will make me a better fisherman. Keep all the old ones and refer back to them fromm time to time for information that never goes out of style.

I always look forward to receiving Walleye In-Sider, it seems that there is always a new article on and very well explained ways to catch walleyes. I find it to be very imformative not only on different methods to fish, but on many new products that have just been marketed. I too, will dig through my older issues when looking for information on a certain body of water or certain methods. I can't think of any other magazine that offers more information for fishing walleyes and tackle to catch them with.

I agree and as Chad mentioned the walleye 2002 guide has some great info on: closed seasons (spawning,) depth patterns of cranks, rock patterns, eyes at night, wind and eyes, cover, open water, roamers, plastics and jighead design applications.

With very poor ice at least there is some good info to read right now.

Is anyone else getting as ansy as I am?

My InFisherman subscription lapsed, but I'm still getting the Walleye Insider. Even if I only find a couple articles an issue interesting- and considering that the magazine is delivered to my door 6 times a year for only $9.96, it is worth it.
