Has anybody tried these Daiwa Heartland leadcore rods? The price is right, I plan on using with a sealine 47 spooled with 10 colors of Core.
Thanks.

10 colors? Wow.
How deep do you figure to get with all that lead line?
I have only been able to get about 60 feet down trolling lead, unless I stop, of course.

I was planning on using double duty for lakers at the same time.
I have never used core before for walleye but a lot of people here use it, I can't put it behind boards the lakes are too small and the people cruzing come within 10 feet of the boat sometimes.

I have 4 of the Heartland leadcores and 4 of the Heartland trolling rods. I like them. They are inexpensive and have a real soft tip. Have been using them for about 3 years now and have had no problems. I really like the two piece feature too, makes having 6-8 8'6" rods in the boat easy.

I have no problem getting 10 colors on my 47's. I put about 50 yards or so of mono backing and then the lead. It's a full reel, but it holds it all.

Thanks Guys
Dkooser, I have the heartland Downrigger rod and its pretty good for the price. I am glad to hear that the Downrigger rod has a soft tip, I was worried that it was like a pool cue. At 28$ CDN its a great deal.
Thanks

they are in the new lebarons catalogue. Probably going to pick one up and try it out. For that price you can't go wrong.
