Are these rods a good buy for jigging? The tourney trail rods are IM7 sell for$60.00 graphite and the Pro Guide are IM6 sell for $39.00

They both are available with the same actions was leaning towards a 6 foot medium with a fast tip spinning. 1 piece 1/4-5/8. I was just curious what your opinions would be on these rods and if you have ever used them. I fish the detoit river quite a bit in the spring but kind of fishing on a budget.

Thanks

I bought a Cabelas tourney trail 6 foot medium/light two years ago for $75. It's an excellent rod. Match it up with a good reel that balances the combo and your set.
You can feel the fish fart, it's that sensitive.

I was wrong on the price they are $24.99. I have the ProGuide, I have the 6'-6", med light, 2-pc. I use it for drifting or casting 1/8 to 1/4 jigs in the Missouri River in the spring. I love it for that. Use 4 or 6# test line. I tried the both the 1m-6 and Im-7 side by side in the stock and could not tell the difference so I went with the cheaper one. You can pay alot more but you don't need to. They are listed on the web now.

I have settled on the Cabela's Tourney rods (IM-6 and IM-7) for MY RODS over the last four years. I can't say enough about them - I LOVE them!!! They are the most sensitive rods I have found and I will hold them up against any the "best" rods on the market for three to four times the price! If you watch the Cabela's promotional ads you can get a tremendous deal. This past Summer I picked up four IM-7 rods (7 and 7 1/2 ft.), at Cabela's, for $39.99 each - in store.

Cabelas spinning rods are nice. I dont know as I like them as much as some other makers, but they are a darn sight cheaper. Dont buy their casting rods. They dont put enough guides on them and they break all the time. Have a good one. Cabelas rods looked nice too up until recently.

The only thing I didn't like on the tourney rods (old design), they may have changed this...is the eye on the tip is so small, it iced up easily in fall/spring fishin.
