Late summer i started using Calcutta Fishing line. The local bait shop started to carry it, i buy alot of stuff there, so he gave me a spool to try. I was wondering if anybody else out there has try it? i've had a hard time finding out any info about the stuff. Like who makes it? they do have a website but it does't say much. Just checking to see what the people of WC think.

Thanks,

Nick

I've used it.

Not bad for inexpensive line, but I do not think it is as good as some others.

For the price, it is good line.

Made by one of the wholesalers(AWI I think) that has branded the Calcutta line. Their swimbaits are better than Storm if you ask me. Much better action and they are coated in some kind of fish attracting scent that HAS made a difference on certain days.

Purple Haze is one of my favorite colors.

They are just trying to compete in the "made offshore" arena with a pretty decnt line of products.

That is funny becouse i'm from central minnasota and all the little ma and pa shops around started to cary calcutta brand, its about as far from the "offshore" marktet as posable. but anyways i've been a big xl and xt line fan, but i think this calcutta line better. its strong, vary limp, vary easy to cast. and costs the same if not a little cheeper the xl or xt.

when i got minnows the other night, i saw calcutta ice line also. they must be making a stab at the freshwater market.

My reference to offshore was only in reference to where it is being produced...I know all of it is...but this is some no name brand that they are trying to create a brand with...thats all.

Didn't mean to give the impression they were targeting offshore anglers.
