This past summer on a fly-in trip to Canada, I found out my Zercom pro flasher was no longer working. Now that ice fishing is under way I am looking ot purchase a new locator. I am considering the FL-8, Marcum LX3 or the Lowrance X67. From looking at the three, I am leaning towards the X67 becoase of the option of using the graph mode on fly-in trips. I do have a humminbird Matrix 27 but am not sure what i would need to purchase to make that unit portable. One concern I have with the Lowrance is the price. They seem very reasonable for what you are getting. I am wondering what am I sacrificing or what advantages the Marcum and Vexilar would have over the lowrance. Is a once every two year fly-in trip a good enough reason to go with the Lowrance over the other two units? Is the Lowrance going to give me the same sensitivity when ice fishing as the other two units? How long will all of these units run on a battery?
