Is there any where that you fish for eyes in softwater year around. I'm not intersested in ice fishing and would like to find someplace to go when Lake Erie freezes.

Red Wing,MN. Open for fishing Sauger and EYE. Where are you located?
If you end up wanting to go to RED WING give me a shout My boat is always ready to go. Never Winterize it, just because of THE Mississippi. Usually can have a good time in winter down there.

Laurel River Lake in KY never freezes and has decent eye population although the gin clear water makes it difficult at times. February/march should be good time though. It's just off I-75 near London/Corbin and just east of Lake Cumberland. Here's a partial aerial view, http://www.walleyecentral.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=2678&password=&sort=1&cat=500&page=1

here's a link to the Corps website which maintains the lake. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/op/lau/rec/

According to my brother (he lives in Olathe) Milford lake in KS, is a good walleye lake. That may be a ways for you and it is COLD in KS, but the water is probably soft right now. Looking at the reports, still soft.

Kansas where the wind never rests...LOL :)
