The Judge is the PWT official ruler.

But for a really good ruler, email Skindog.

His rulers RULE!

Or you could just come to the WC Midwest get-together on Winnie this September and beg for one like the rest of us!

I've started a collection of Skindog 'Classic' Rulers! I have the very first one from the first get together, I hope he keeps em coming. They hang on my office wall! Too good to use!

A friend of mine made a great ruler.
He took a 3 foot section of 4" pvc pipe.
He glued a cap on one end of the pipe.
Then, he took a band saw and split the pipe down the middle.
Then, he took an aluminum yard stick and siliconed it to the bottom of the pipe.

Now you have a great fish measuring device that is absolutely accurate.

Catch the fish, hold the pipe at an angle with the cap down. Let the fish slide down to the cap until its nose is resting on the cap. Pinch the tail together and measure the length on the ruler. Absolutely accurate, and no flopping fish all over the boat.

Take care
REW

p.s.
If you do a bunch of bigh northern, muski, or salmon fishing, you can simply extend the length of pipe as necessary to meet the needs of your largest fish and you will be good to go.
