I search the archives and could only find comments on the regular line of XML rods. Has anyone used Cabela's Walleye Line of rods? How would you compare them to say St. Croix Premier line of rods. I am considering a new longer Live Bait rod and want to keep the price around $100.
Thanks
Jim

Was just at Cabela's this weekend looking at the Cabela's rods (7'+) for slip bobber fishing. Was not overly impressed. Seemed pretty whippy. Went to Gander Mt. yesterday and found 2 of the new Rapala rods in 7'1" length for 49.99 and think their much better. Just my thoughts. There are several line of the Rapala rods and longest Cabela's has them in the 7' length and their 34.99. Gander had one that was 7'2" so not sure what the deal is, but the name is the same on both the rod in Cabelas catalog and the one's I bought from Gander. However, they were more expensive at Gander.

Take a look at Berkley's Gary Roach rod's. IM7 blanks. Good rods. Good price.
