I am looking at switching most of my line over to power pro this year. I will still be using mono for slip bobber fishing and some live bait rigging. I'm hoping to basically eliminate using mono because of line twist and other issues that are well documented with mono. My question is what diameter power pro should I consider for jigging applications? I was thinking about using the 4 pound diameter. I am nervous the 1 and 2 pound diameter will be have too small of a diameter and not preform properly. Is this a valid concern? If it isn't maybe I would be fine going with a smaller diamter than 4 pound diameter.

depending on technique, you will still get some line twist with braid.
I have been using 10lb powerpro for a few years and love it for jigging and depending on the size of fish you are fishing for, 10lb might be right for you. Just bring a marker to color your line when it fades to white.
good luck
I have used the 8 lb test or 1 lb diameter for some time with no problems.
One thing about using most of the braids or super lines on a spinning reel. It really helps if your reels are of the long stroke variety. ie. a long spool that is relatively shallow. This means that your wraps tend to overlap each other at an angle more and are a bit less likely to dig into each other after lots of use.
The concern about diameter and managability is a good one. The issue that I pointed out above is one of the main problems in using very fine diameter line on a spinning reel. The problem is typically not so pronounced on bait casting reels.

I rarely buy superline based on diameter. If I would typically use 6 pound mono for jigging, I use 6 pound Fireline. The decrease in diameter is just a bonus.
Really thin superlines are easier to deal with than really thin monos in my opinion. Their opacity makes all the difference in the world.
A reel like REW described is a big plus when using superlines. Many of the newer reels have that design because of superlines. My Diawa and Shimano spinning reels all crosswrap the line.
