I am looking to get a lcx-20c, was wondering if I could use the gps receiver with it to combine with my lcx-18c. I know they are pretty much the same unit, but diffrent years. Also any input on the x-20.
Thanks,

You can connect the units via NMEA 0183. There is a current thread in the general discussion forum that explains how to do this.
On the LCX-20C, I would suggest a unit with better resolution, even if it means you have to go to a smaller screen due to cost. You can get an Eagle Fishstrike 2000C and use the same antenna that's on your 18C, and it's a better unit than the 20C.

Wade, thanks for your response.
Here is my dilemma, I am currently running a Garmin chartplotter with my lcx-18c, I kind of got the itch to go color on the chartplotter. I currently don't have a gps receiver with my my x-18.. I was wondering if I purchased the lcx-20c or the Eagle you recommended(I would buy the unit with gps receiver) if I could run the old x-18 on the same receiver and if my lcx-18c could still be able to use or run WAAS on the new receiver.
What I wanted to do is run my bow and console off the same gps receiver and be able to use split screen on the bow. But when on the big water use both units side by side..
Also, I recently heard by someone who switched form Lowrance to Garmin, that with Lowrance he thought it wasn't as accurate when relating map to depth or contours. Any thought?
Thanks...
