Currently I run a Garmin with Blue Chart for the Great Lakes and I am happy with it. I am considering going to color and I am thinking about going with Lowrance, not sure if the Navionics Package is similar to Garmins Blue Chart or if it is better. Anybody have opinions or knowledge of both software packages or if there is a better package offered for the Great Lakes?

I had the 182Garmin and when zooming in for better acuracy on my trails, the unit would show detail a few more zoom-ins than my 104c lowrance. The Lowrance when zooming in will just show the trail after so many zooms...(not sure of the ratio right now.) It was fairly accurate prior to the detail leaving...The Garmin was also very accurate...Both are quality and should suit anybodys needs...
I do know the size of the screen makes a huge difference when reading detail, especially when riding bumpy seas...Love the 10" screen!!!
When my Garmin indicated rock, my prop proved it correct!!!
