Derrick's post has prompted me to think about what I use to design my spinner rigs. One thing I'm wondering is if there is anyone out there that sells beads that have are prismatic. Something that is maybe coated with a shiny material to reflect like other lures. I would think that a string of something like that with a shiny blade in front of it would somewhat resemble a bait fish. I know there are clear beads, but I'm talking silver or gold surface. Maybe a craft shop?

Besides checking Netcraft, Cabelas etc. try out some of your local hobby and fabric shops. You will be amazed at what you can find to construct baits.

Go to your favorite craft shop and get a bunch of faceted, glass beads. You can get them in silver, gold, copper or other colors.
Lots of shine, lots of angles, and the glass - tends to "clack" a bit more than the plastic beads.

Take care

EyeW. - great idea - next time I'm in WalMart I think I'll look there. My fiance can spend hours in their craft dep't, so they must have some sort of beads for us fishermen...

Please let the Board know if you find anything. I'll do the same.

Walmart has a lot of them. They also have T pins that I use to secure harnesses and rigs to those styrofoam noodles....

Did a little snooping at lunch.

Walmart was too far away for today, but I did find out that Falcon Tackle makes silver and a gold beads, in various sizes. The silver is good, I bought some, the gold, however, is quite dull and nearly as reflective.

So, will still have to hit Walmart, maybe tomorrow.

I can't remember the name of the gentleman from Minot ND, I believe. He fished the Team Walleye and had a product by the name of Walleye magnets. They looked alright for beads, he had some really interesting ones. Maybe someone on this board will know.

Michael's crafts sells a cone shaped bead that I use. It reflects in a "mother of Pearl" type way. I have been using it for a couple years. Also, JoAnn Fabrics has gobs of fancy beads. Yes, I do spend time in those type stores, with my bride.

TBO, at least the beads in those stores are cheaper than the ones sold for spinners at the "fishing stores". What does that say for our shopping ability?? LOL cw.

Your a good man! When mama says shop I usually tuck tail and run.......with the credit cards! All kidding aside, I wonder if sequins would do anything to enhance my rigs. Well that's it. Time for me to go power shopping at the arts and crafts stores.....
