Was considering buying it. Would like opinions, Likes, dislikes, etc.
I have a 16ft aluminum boat and was wondering if the 24" was big enough? any and all replies greatly appreciated.
If you're looking at the one with the aluminum hoop - don't buy it. The hoops break very easily and you will end up using the drift sock without it. It'll still work though, but why pay for the hoop?
A 24" should be OK for your boat in all but the screamingest winds, in which case you might not go out anyway. But a bigger one would probably be better. It's also a good idea to have two socks for very windy days and for different presentations.

I have had a Cabelas hoop style bag for years, never had a problem with the hoop. Maybe they make them different now.
I think though, I wouldnt buy another for a different reason. It takes longer to set up and take down, if you relocate it can be bulky leaving it in the boat set up. I have seen bags without hoops in use and a well designed one will open in the water just fine without the hoop.

The main feature I like about the drift king is that the vent hole is adjustable, is there any others out there that do the same thing? if so what brands are they?

I have the one with the aluminum hoop and it has worked well for me. It is big enough to control drift on my 18.5 ft boat but I do have a second sock for really windy days. The aluminum hoop is a little bit of a hassle to assemble and disassemble plus more involved to store. I thought the hoop was plenty sturdy and gives you something to hold onto when deploying and retrieving the sock. I liked the adjustable neck and the draw string so you can collapse it when bringing it in. I put a swivel in front of it to prevent any rolling when side-slipping with the trolling motor during a drift. Hope this helps.
Before you make a decision, please look into the Wave Tamer www.driftbag.com/wave.htm
Most, not all, on this site have one in their rig and there is a reason for that!
