I have some live bait rigs that are 5 feet of flourocarbon, hook, sinker, and swivel. How is the best way to store these? I will take these on and off about once a day.

I use foam Funoodle floaties. I cut it into 10" sections and use short brass nails to anchor the line end, then wrap the rest around the noodle and stick the hook into the foam. I can fit 3 leaders on each noodle. Three noodle sections fit in a double deep Plano tray

Use the foam that is used on air conditioning pipes or water pipes to reduce the sweating. It already as a slit in the foam lengthwise and therefore you do not need to use any nails to hold the leader line or swivel. Simply insert the swivel or leader line into the slit and start winding until you come to the hook and then just insert it into the foam and you are good to go. It also does not take up as much room as those pool floats.

I have been using these on all my spinner rigs for years and works good. Cut what ever length you need to fit your tackle.

Good fishing to you,

I use "Tackle Buddies" and I think they are the BEST!!

This is a link to Cabela's for them, HOWEVER, I like the BIGGER ones (2 1/4 inch diameter) then these!!!

I have nine of the larger ones and I can tie 81 harnesses and store them on the tubes! Besides, the end lids come off so you place all kinds of blades, hooks and weights inside of them to change-up your presentation.

I don't leave home without them ;) !!

Thanks. I like these better than the floaties or insulation. I only needed one so I ordered

rspahr,

Those are the ones I was reffering to. I haven't found a better way of storing my harnesses - not at all.

These things keep everything "together" with out tangle! I wind them on left to right, laying the blades "down" (swept), and taking them off right to left. I put two harnesses to a "segment" of the "buddie" so I can store 18 to the tube - works GREAT!!!!

There is another way that works pretty good.
I use a piece of 1 1/2 inch pvc pipe that is about 5-8 feet long.
I put foam in one end for the hooks, and cut slots in the other end to accomodate the swivels that I have on the ends of the leader. I drop the swivels in the groove, stretch out the line, and hook the hook in the foam.
I throw the pipe in a side compartment of the boat and it travels great.

Although the pipe takes up more linear room than a smaller rubber line storage device, the line is stretched straight, and it comes out straight and is ready to fish. Florocarbon is failry stiff, and if you can keep it straight, it really fishes much bettter and is more managable.

I simply have a clip on the end of the line and snap the swivel to the clip.

Simple easy and it has the advantage of never having any loops or twists in the leader.

Take care
