I have a friend who owns a Zercom color point flasher. He recently had to replace the transducer, and was told that Zercom has gone out of business. Is this true, of have they just been bought out by another company? And if it is true, are the LPG2000's still avalible? I've been thinking about getting one. Thanks.

I think I remember they were bought out, maybe by the people who make Hummingbird?
Im sure some one will know.

As far as I know Zercom has been held by Tech Sonic (sp)Industries for the last couple of years. Tech Sonic also owns Humminbird. I think this year they have went away from using the Zercom name and have called everything Humminbird. For name recognition purposes I suspect. I saw in the in new cabelas that they have a Humminnbird Legend 3000, which is the LPG 2000 from what I could tell. By coincidence I looked at the Zercom website today and when you put in www.zercom.com it forwards you to the Humminbird website. But I did see they have transducers for the Color Point available to buy on the website.

If you are still looking for a Zercom LPG 2000 the Fishing Tackle Grab Bag in Davison Mi has 1 left in stock. I was there yesterday and was looking at it. If I remember right it was priced under $600.00.
You Can reach them by their web site or telephone 810-653-4771.

www.reedssports.com may still have the lpg2000 in stock, but as far as the specs go, the Legend 3000 seems to have a bit of an edge in target separation
