I have the Lowrance X-15.I was wondering if anyone uses the keel offset? Thanks for your info.

I use a Furuno 600L myself and it too has the keel offset. I also use a thru hull transducer (true thru-hull, not an in-hull mounted one) I am assuming they are the same thing on both machines. I don't use it because I really don't care how deep the water is in absolute terms, what I care about is how much water I have left under the boat.

I believe that your question is aimed at the issue of depth of target so you can calculate more accurately when usung the precision trolling book. The answer is yes and it is plus 1 foot for offset.
However if you do not use the offset it could be to your advantage because you will always be erring on the shallow side which is good.Either way your OK ,it is a matter of what makes you more comfortable.
