when you guys made the adjustment to jigging with fireline, did you have trouble figuring out how to adjust the drag so the hook would not pull out of the fishes mouth? I just made the switch and was wondering how to adjust the drag so i don't lose any more fish.
thanks

as loose as possible and then tighten only enough to gain line. Let the rod and drag work for you so you don't tear the hook hole any bigger.

Typically I leave the drag loose enough so that I can pull line out by hand without too much trouble for adjusting my depth. This seems to work for me. I know, you were probably expecting some scientific, precise method! LOL

I'm with FROGMAN on this, I leave the drag loose enough that a can pull line from the reel with some effort but not much. The best thing I think you could do is to loosen the drag until line releases fairly easily and adjust with each fish you catch. Eventually you will arrive at the "right feel" when pullling line from the reel and it, then, becomes a "no-brainer"! Fireline takes time to learn.
