I am planning on buying a vhf marine radio (fixed mount). I have an am/fm radio in my boat now, which the antenna needs replacing soon. My question is will I be able to use just the vhf antenna for both radios with one these band separators? Also, can I use both radios at the same time without interference? The vhf antenna that I will be using, is the 8' shakespeare with ss mounts. I am not familiar with these separators, so I could sure use some advice on just how they work before I buy 2 antennas.
Also, I am looking at buying the West Marine radio from their catalog, if anyone is familiar with it, I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks for any help & be safe on the water!
Take care,

Brad

I have been using the AM/FM separator with my marine radio antenna and am/fm stereo for a few years now and it has worked just fine with no interference problems.

Can't comment on the seporator but I can on the radio. I bought the West Marine radio because the clerk told me it was the Uniden MC1010. Sure enough when I got home and opened the box all the warrenty paper work was from Uniden. Radio works great and I saved 30.00. Good luck
