I'm sure this has been discussed before but wondering what are thoughts on which you prefer.
Here's my situation: I live on a very stump-filled reservoir in MO. Water is 2 ft. low right now and I just hit several stumps in the middle of the channel with my Lund. Only going 10 mph but bent a prop pretty good.
I've heard several people say stainless props will cut right thru the stumps and go with those. I've heard others say that stainless will end up wrecking the lower end or prop shaft on stumps because there is no give.
Any thoughts from people fishing stump filled reserviors?

Don't use stainless steel props in hazard-filled waters. They are stronger than most gearcases. Stay with aluminum, buy spares, and repair. Actually, the safest is reinforced plastic (Comprop) and buy spares. Since they are 4 bladed, if you break one blade, you can always break off the opposite blade and use that plastic prop for the spare. I know a Missouri River rat that does exactly that.
