After reading past posts, some of you place a float between the
blade and the hooks and some ahead of the blade. It may be a
dumb question but if the float is ahead of the blade it seems
like it could work it way up the leader in heavy wave action?
Making my own also,Does it matter?
Thanks in advance. Mike

The resistance from the water forces the float back down the line.

The only dumb question is the one that wasnt asked.

I have never seen anyone ever use a spinner rig with a float above the blade. I have seen beads above the blade but never a float. I always use my floats between the hooks and the blade.

I have never used or seen a float above the blade. I rarely use them anyway. The only time I do is when I am feeling lazy when making rigs and not wanting to use beads. Floats are easier to put on.

I don't know where you fish but where I mainly fish (green bay) I think it really helps to have floats. Especially with the zebra muscles all over the bottom. They help keep the bait off of bottom which keeps the zebras off which helps me catch more fish. Good luck!
