I will be fishing Leech, Cass and Bemidji this summer. Since they are reasonably clear lakes, I am planning to go with natural colors (sucker, perch, cisco, etc.) lures. Am I off base here? Should I be using any brighter colors? Is there a hot color for any of these lakes? Thanks.

While you're in the area, be sure to fish Winnie. Leech is commercially netted, Cass and Bemidji are relativedly small for the pressure they get. I've fishied them all a few times, and if it's walleyes you seek, Winnie is much better than the others.

Leech commercially netted ? I do not think that is correct. They can net for there own consumption but maby I am wrong. As for fishing leech is a great lake, I fish it often. The color for me on Leech or Winnie is green.

I don't know what it is about Cass but you can't go wrong with flor. orange. It has been one or our hottest colors whether we're pulling spinners or cranks. Chartruese/clown are also good choices.
