I'm considering adding a locator on the bow of my boat, probably one of the new Eagle's or Lowrance's. Any advice as far as wiring goes? Wire to the trolling motor battery or the main motor battery? Early thanks for the input!

A lot of people have reported interference on their locator when using the bow mount motor in cases where the same battery is used to supply power to both. I'd suggest using the main battery. Personally, I've got a little deep cycle lawn tractor-sized battery that I use for my bow locator.

Always try to power your sonar units sepperate of trolling motors.
when you are running youre trolling motor it will cause interference with the transducer and run youre batteries down a lot faster If you have a main starter battery and seperate trolling motorbatts. try to find room to put in another battery and hook it to youre main system with an isolster and always charge everything after a long day on the water and you can go a couple of years hassle free

Just curious about how you all ran the cable for the transducer to the trolling motor shaft and down to the motor. I have a minnkota auto pilot. Do you use the hockey puck style ducer or the standard ducer?

You will wan't your transducer on your trolling motor, with the New Eagle's your temp will be built into the transducer. With a Minnekota trolling motor you should have no trouble using the front trolling motor battery. The new Fish Easy 2 with temp has split screen and zoom capabilities on the smaller screen, that is smaller then the 160 and 240 screens neat option for saving space up front. As Homer mentioned a smaller 12v battery would be an option. The less powerful graphs can run for hours even days on one charge. $155-159

Brian,
I run a 350A on my bow. I ran the wiring under the gunnel to my main battery. The only thing I want drawing from my trolling battery is the trolling motor. When mounting the transducer to the head I just used wire clamps and trimed off the extra length when tightened completly.
Good luck
