Whats the best way to wrap the line around these clips (Off Shores) so they dont slip? Do you force the line back behind those tiny pins in the back? also I do have the up graded red ones.
Thanks

Sounds like You are using Fireline. I've never has a problem with the red releases. You might try the "snapper" realeases, they work well with "Super Lines". Bob

I wrap a small rubber band around the jaws of the clip before putting the line in. It creates more pressure to grip onto the line.

I too use the newer red ones and always put the line behind the pin. I use Fireline and have not had one slip or come off.

Go with the snapper releases, there is a screw on the bottom of the release that you can control how much tension you want. Using the snapper release you won't get any slippage with the super lines.

why would you want to use a snapper release with a snap weight? seemes there would be too much water resistance from that bulky release. And if you lost it that a lot of $ on the bottom of the lake.
I use Powerpro and if they slip, I use a plain old rubber band like I stated earlier.
Save the snappers for your inline boards.
to each his own I guess

Sorry, I missed the snap weight part of it. Forget what I said
Use non-adjustable Church Clips - no slip. With red Offshore's just go behind the single pin in the center, not the "teeth" at the back - you shouldn't see much slipping with 8 lb dia or better superlines.
If your using Church or Snappers and get snagged don't jerk your line, either will come off. Red Offshores w/pin will slip, but will never leave...
Pretty sure Offshore offers replacement pads for the red clips w/pins if your current pads are worn.

Eric-
I am assuming thats what he meant. sorry if I am wrong.
But I have used the rubber band band trick on some spare offshore inline boards that I didnt feel like buying snappers for and it works fine for this too.

I use snap weights alot. I used the offshore ones for years but changed up when a buddy introduced me to the church boards clip. Easy to use even with gloves on and no slipping even with braid. What more could one ask for?

I have been using # 10 rubberbands for 16 years. An overhand knot on the main line and a snap swivel on the weight. The rubber band will feed into the reel to be used over and over. If you have a problem just snap the rubber band and start over.

just double wrap it and you'll never have a slip problem..
