What is the best (or a good one) gps map chip for the Great Lakes? Is there one that covers all of them? I plan on fishing western Erie ,southern Lake Mi and eastern Ontario. Must be compatable with a Lowrance 332. Thanks.

Navionics has the best charts for the great lakes. Unfortunately there is not one chart covering them all, it requires two charts. Go here to check them out. http://www.navionics.com/continentchartcatalog.asp?ContinentID=5

When I bought a Navionics Gold chip that covered the western Great Lakes, there was a coupon included for a "Fishing Chip" that had some great features for fishing, i.e. closer and deeper contour lines. Not sure if this deal is still in effect.

How much do these charts show, and how accurate are they?

Just saw the 2007 maps from Navionics. It looks like there is now a single map for all of the Great Lakes.

Correct! New XL9 charts for the great lakes will cover LOTW to the West through the Canadian Maritimes to the East, and ALL of the great Lakes inbetween.
Part # is 14XG. Shipping now.

Those of you who had emailed me about the new XL9 Great Lakes chip, it is now in stock. I don't have it listed on the site yet but if you shoot me an email I can get you set up.
For those of you who haven't heard the news yet, the new Navionics Great Lakes chip covers ALL of the lakes! There will be no more XL3 East and West chip, just ONE for $199. That's obviously great news for those of you who fish both east and west GLs.
