With all the underwater cameras on the market from black and white to color displays which is a good buy and what features are must haves to over kill.

Get one with a cable at least 1.5 times the depth you think you'll use it. I fish deep reservoirs, and they can be at 60 feet. A 100 foot cable isn't too long for this... get a 50 foot and you'll regret it. Screen size less important, color not even close to worth it. After you get down to 15 feet or so it's all shades of gray/green anyway. I like my 7" Scout XL, not too big to draw down the battery really fast, but big enough to see well. Also, use it to verify bottom structure instead of actually finding a fish to look at. Most water doesn't have the visibility to show you every fish you could have caught if your line was in the water... I've caught a lot of fish out of water where I never saw a fish on the camera... Camera only goes down to check out new site, verify bottom structure, ID baitfish, etc. If I'm lucky I see walleye, but I know they're around even if I don't.

Every time I see this question come up of late, I see the same answer. The MarCum VS 560 is the top of the line and has all the features a guy can ask for. I'm not a hard core ice guy, but I keep contact with a few ice tourney anglers that I trust and they sure give the VS 560 high marks. It is a pretty spendy item, but there are some lower-cost options in that Marcum camera lineup too.

Agree with Wade about the Marcum VS560. I've owned 3 different units and this is the best by far!
