I am going to fish lake erie for the first time. We are going to be staying near Oak Harbor, Ohio which is between Toledo and Port Clinton. We will be there the week before Memorial Day. If you have any experience fishing this area and are willing to share information, please contact me.

I fish out that way that time of year, re-post when the time gets near and we may be able to hook up and share notes, btw that time of year is a very good time to fish that area, big spinner bite along with cranks.

This was my 621 first post and I have a 621 ...cool

Bill,
I'm just home from hip replacement surgery, and have plenty of time to help you out. Here's a link to my web page on the BoatOhio site, http://www.boatohio.com/cgi-bin/forums/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=DCForumID14&conf=DCConfID3
you are welcome to go there, or you could simply post any questions here.

Generally speaking late May is good time of year to fish the reef area for the abundant 03 fish 17 to 24"ers. The open water to the north will provide great trolling for mostly those same fish. It will be a little early for spoons but cranks and/or harnesses will keep you hopping.

Most of the large fish will be on their way back east, but there will be a few still hanging around.

Good luck and good fishing.

Get on here close to the time you are going to be there and you can get a ton of info. If you want to know about equipment ahead of time, just ask questions. I fish out of Wild Wins Marina in that area and will be happy to answer questions. If you need lodging there is a lot in that area depending on how large your group is.
