I am a regular customer at Cabela's and Bass Pro. However, I also like to support the smaller stores so I buy a lot from the local places when I am traveling to my lake house.

However, I would like to order over the internet also.
Who do you all use besides the two big stores? Do they have a website and are they reputable?

I always shop the local home owned tackle shops first. If they don't have what I'm looking for I go next to the local Gander Mt.. Still can't find it? Then online to about anyone reputable.

I find that the local mom & pop stores prices are rarely more than the "local" national stores. Many times less. It seems the small shops are more in tune with what is going on in the area. Occasionally they have old stock containing exactly the item you've been looking for and can no longer find anywhere.

If you look at the stock of small shops vs. big national stores you will find that the small shops carry about the same stuff. They just don't have a display shelf fifteen deep of the same thing. Small shops have some locally made and small tackle companies products that you won't find in the big stores.

if i need some harness supplies, www.walleyesupply.com gets some of my business. but like you a lot of times i want to touch a product before buying and i'm all about the instant gratification of taking it directly home, but these people have been good to me in the past.
