Matt, thanks for your responses to the PP vs Lowrance question. It's my understanding you are running the Raytheon 425 and I am thinking about that unit. What are your impressions. How is the detail when using maps and what manufacture's maps are compatible with the unit. I am really intrigued by the ReelBottom maps for Mn but also fish Erie and Bay de Noc so would want something that has good maps for them also. Thanks for your help.

About the Raytheon 425, I run one too. The only maps that are compatible are Fishing Hot Spots Maps. They don't show everything in perfect detail, but they do give you an indication of where you are in relationship to the spot, be it a point, a flat, etc.
It's the same maps they have for regular lake maps. I think we all know that most maps don't show everything and Reel Bottom maps aren't available for any GPS.
