The Palace fishig show is back, with more of the independent vendors and most selling their own product. That alone makes any fishing show that new stuff drives me nut's. Not many boats though which is good for us anglers shopping tackle. Even I can afford tackle as for a new boat every year not. Dave Casandra's musky demo was great the nephew had not seen most of the baits he showed. The fly rod demo cleared out a few seats he was in control but all that line in the air up on the little casting deck was something, tickled me and the nephew both. Whole lotta of unneccessary ducking going on. Missed Mark Martin's demo.
Watch out for those new "stinky" tubes if you think power bait is strong....and she warned me. :P
Turn off the intercom for the demo's please!

Do you know of a web site that lists the hours of operation
for the Palace Show? I was able to find one for the Silverdome but, I haven't found one for the Palace yet.

I agree -went there -won't be back. To many shows all planned for the same day in the area may have hurt. I heard there were four outdoor oriented shows all in a close proximity.

I Agree. (You mean you didn't want to get a synthetic chamois or a new-fangled mop?? :) )
I suppose the show serves a purpose for those looking for a fly-in trip or something, but it really doesn't address my interests.
Each year I find myself longing for fishing , after a long Michigan winter, that I go, just to break the monotony. And each year I leave, asking myself why did I go.

Drove 480 miles round trip. Seminars were good but I won't do it again.
PS
Meeting and talking to Juls did help to make the trip worthwhile.

I think that not haveing the Palace show for a couple of years hurt them. the place used to be packed for the show. I went this afternoon and found what I was looking for. I was looking for fishlander downriggers and rod holders. The selection that they've had in the past was not there. Maybe the vendors will come back in following years. If you were there in the past you know what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the kind words Tony...It was a pleasure meeting you too!
I got to meet quite a few WC'rs this weekend, and had a good time talking with all of you that stopped by to say "hey". Sure is nice to put names to the faces...Captain Jay, Ray Champ, Tony, Rabble Rouser and a few others that are slipping my mind at the moment..(sorry)..but I have to agree with everyone that the show was slooowwww...I still had a fun time though! Jack the dog was at the show today, and got a lot of attention from all the kids...he was in heaven.
I bought this new fangled hose thingy, because I'm too lazy to coil a regular garden hose back up, and this one coils up all on it's own when you're done using it..lol and, some cool looking spinner blades from my good buddy Tom Harris at the Angler's Edge out of Kenosha Wisconsin. Ya hear that Fellegy? Yep, colors other than silver hammered...;-)
At least the Off Shore booth was next to the fish tank, so we were able to catch a few seminars in between talking to folks. That helped.

Yeah Juls, I heard ya way over here. Someday you'll learn. lol
