I have a baitcasting rod that is showing some wear on the thread wraps on a few guides. Would a bit of enviro tex lite be ok on them? Other than five minute epoxy that is all I have on hand.

Ya...EnviroTex would work...I know some guys that have used it for rod finish...make sure you scuff up your current wraps so you get some adhesion.

I have used clear long wearing fingernail polish enamel and it has a hard finish. Small bottles that fit in a tackle box and are cheap. Have not found it to crack with flexing of the rods.

I second the finger nail polish. A few of you know the story, so go easy on me.
