 We have a 16ft. Spectrum outboard and we are looking to buy new rod holders, mostly for trolling and drifting. Any ideas?????

The driftmaster rod holders work very well and when removed leave a very small foot print. Also the surface mount rod holder plates are easy to mount and do very little to detract from the appearance of the boat.

Take care

The following is one example of the different style rod holders available:

Here is an example of a "driftmaster base" which is nice in appearance, strong to hold, and easy to mount:

If ease of adjustment is a priority, Fish-Ons work well. For strength and ease of getting a rod out of the holder, Folbe is hands down the best I've tried. For brute strength the Scotty Stryker is really solid.

In my drift boat I use both Fish-Ons and Folbes (Fish-Ons for small rivers where a lot of adjustments are needed). In my Tundra I've switched all of the holders to Folbes because we lose fewer fish during the removal of the rod from the holder. They're also great for downrigging because I can set the tension on the line and still put it in and out of the rod holder with the rod bent.
