I'm planning on loading up for this summer's walleye fishing and I noticed that the metal-lipped Hot-N-Tots have given way to the plastic lipped. Maybe this happened a while ago and I just didn't notice. I always had trouble fine tuning the metal ones. What's the verdict on the plastic-lipped?
thanks ahead of time............romertrain

The new plastic lip is no where close to the old quality. You will have problems with the lip comming off after banging the rocks. i am not saying it always happens but it does happen enough to be a problem. I don't think they run as true as the original either. Just my opionion of course. If you find out any secrets on tuning the new ones we would all love to know. Take care and good luck.

BOOOOO SSSSSSSSSSSS If only Pradco would do that to Rapalas best seller! But then they would not have been dumb enough to. That's a logical business descision? Rapala has been a disgrace to Storm and all American Anglers. There is no other lure I have bought more of than Hot n Tot's but the Willey's Worm for those applications is gaining everyday.

Here are my thoughts, take them or leave them. Normark has heard our complaints on how they trashed the Storm line of baits since they bought them out.If they really cared about their customers they would bring back the old style but they apparently don't. To me, that's a pretty arrogant business decision. There are lots of baits out there that will catch walleyes besides Normark products. Would you buy a truck, boat or anything else if you knew it wasn't of the quality that it was in the past? I don't think so. Normark has shown that they don't value our opinions on the changes they have made with the hot-n-tots and thundersticks. DON'T BUY THEM!!! As long as people keep buying an inferior product they won't make any changes. I can't wait to try the new Renosky baits.
Geez, after writing this I feel a little better but I can probably forget about ever having them as a sponsor!! Oh well, we'll get along without each other just fine.

I too was disappointed Normark said good bye to the metal lipped Hot'N Tot. I did locate my favorite metallic colors at Frank's Great Outdoors. I recieved my order within 4 business days. I did history search on the board-thanks guys. I bought enough to hold me and my brothers over as we experiment with other crankbaits. We plan to try Willy's Worm, Reef Runner Deep Little Ripper, and Renosky Pirate and Fire Glo, and even the new polycarbonate lipped Hot,N Tot-Who knows. I agree with other posts, lots of productive lures out there-just have to establish fishing patterns and confidence.
