I don't know if this helps, as I don't troll and basicaly fish Cleveland to Vermilion. But, I like to use either purple or gold beads on my dark purple harnesses. In general, I either accent the blade color, or color pattern, or go gold with my beads. For water mellon patterned blades, I'll use green, yellow, pink, or gold beads (either all of the same, or in some combination).
On my gold blade rigs, I do all gold, all gold with a coupple orange or red, all purple, or "fire tiger" with a pattern of green, yellow, and orange.
The past coupple of years, I've used mostly gold or purple blades almost exclusivly. I start with one gold harness and one purple, and rarely feel a need to change colors.
what size blades and beads ?
has anyone used all pearl beads or all gold beads ?
Size 3 or 4 colorado, or deep cup colorado blades, usualy 4mm to 6mm beads. I prefer the size 4 blades becuase I can feel them spinning better than I can with the size 3.

On big water blade sizes start at 4 with 5's being most common and then 6's, just like anything else you'll drown to get a walleye to bite it depends on what they want, I have just started tying up harnesss myself, I used anywhere from 5-10 beads depending on what look I want to go for, more subtle presensation or look at me I'm big and purple. I tied up 40 different color combos, I stuck with purples, greens, oranges, reds, pearl white, chartruse, blues and pinks. Just mix em up and create a whole bunch when you get on good spinner bite throw a variety out and see what they like, after you get some fish you might be able to tell what type of harnesses you should go with and variations of it.

Pink and or green beads with the watermelon and chartreuse with the black and purple. Enough beads to match the length of the blades you are using to the top hook.
For Lake Erie #4 & 6 trebles and #1 or 1/0 single at the top about 4 inches apart..............VMC's,Gammys,Diatchis....

My personal Erie best(western though):
Dark purple colorado blade size 3 or 4, round gold bead(size 3 or 4), 3 faceted black(size 6), round gold bead(size 3 or 4), red hooks. 3 years+ and almost the only harness I ever need to use. :)
