Ok you probably already know trick but just tie a 3 inch peice of fishing line on your off shore clip then leave a swivel snap or just a snap on the end and clip to your main line so when it falls off, Walla it is still held to the line by the little snap clip!

Or you could use Elberta Clippers and never worry about them falling off of the line and thus not need to add another snap to slide up and down your line.

Thanks for posting the link. Just so people know, I am not sponsored or affiliated with this company in any way. I just use their product and like it's performance for my applications. They are comparably priced to other releases but the best part is that I have never lost one yet. I use them for Snap weights and stackers on downrigger lines.

If you don't want the clip to release the line, then upgrade the clips with better releases that Off Shore offers. The black OR-14's that come with the boards have the least amount of holding power.

The "Snapper" release is the most popular upgrade(used on the front arm) with the OR-16 (red release with a pin in the center of it/used on the back)coming in a close second...put the line behind the pin when you clip it to the line, and the clip will not let go of the line.
