I am looking at buying a Lowrance Global Map 2400 and one of
the new Navionics Hot Spot fishing maps that are on mmc cards and
then marking locations using the new reel bottom gps coordinates.
Is this possible and will the map be accurate?

Sure, that'll all work IF you line up the south garrison hill with the north garrison hill, that's the needle. Now when the headquarters road opens up on the west horizon, while your on 8 mile, that means your on that little jog on the west edge, about a half mile south of the north end. lo lol My god, if I had figure out how to use all the stuff you just described, I'd be more of a basket case than I already am. Even on foggy day! lol

HEY STEVE, MY COUSIN CAN STILL DO WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT,BUT IT'S BECOMING A THING OF THE PAST EVEN FOR HIM! I HAVE BEEN FISHING WITH HIM SINCE WE WERE 8 YEARS OLD. WE BOTH HAD OUR OWN BOATS,HIS WAS AN ALUMINUM BOAT WITH A MOTOR I CANT REMEMBER AND I HAD AN OLD CEDAR STRIP BOAT WITH A 5 HORSE CHAMPION. EVERYTHING HAS CERTAINLY GOTTEN MORE COMPLICATED FOR SURE. LIFE WAS SOOOO EASY BACK THEN ON A LITTLE LAKE NORTH OF BRAINERD,WISH I COULD GO BACK EVERY DAY I WAKE UP!

The unit is a very good unit. It has the new upadated technology - that will get you to within 10 feet most of the time.
The map that you speak of - is a good one, but as is the case with any thing - I expect that there will be even better maps coming out.
The key thing to get with your unit - is lots of memory.
That way - as maps change, and as other conditions change, you can simply upload the updated data to your GPS.
The best of all worlds will be - when we have a full map that is downloadable for Mille Lacs, as is the case for some of the the other inland areas. The current mapping - only allows you to manually load the waypoints, unless I am mistaken.
I expect, that if the map that you speak of is not down loadable in its entirety, that there will be one out this year or next.
