The Trophy has a 25" transom, your motor will not bolt on.

I had a 50hp 4-stroke on my 1997 tp175cs by alumacraft. I loved it. It would get on plane with no problems. Im not sure how much more the trophy weighs then the TP did. Or if the transom is deeper on the trophy. But if they are the same, then is should work. I could get 28mph out of the boat. And I used to troll with the 50hp all the time. I used to do tournaments up on Erie with it and had lots of success. When in bigger waves like 3' and 4' footers I would go just as fast as everyone else, around 12 to 15 mph. One thing I know for sure is that it was the driest riding boat Ive ever owned. I have a tracker now and it is the wetest ride Ive ever owned. So if you are really interested in keeping your motor but getting a new boat, try looking into the tournament pro boat. Ther is nothing you cant do in the TP that you couldnt do in the trophy...

Thanks for the reply! Its exactly the type of info I,m looking for .I currently have the honda on an old starcraft super sport and it works fine, especially the trolling and it to goes 28 mph and I,m ok with that.If I get more possitive feed back, I will look for a older style tropy 170.I wonder what the transom height is on a 1993 trophy? thanks

I should have asked this in my first reply. What length of tp did you have? I,m unfamiliar with the tp. Is it deep?Did it have a 20 inch transom? It sounds like it was good in big water, is that correct?Did it have a wrap around windshield? Thanks for any info . gg
