Does anyone know of an online store that sells bottom bouncers or pencil weights heavier than 3oz's. also after reading the article in walleye insider on polelining, what length of rod do you recomend, fleet farm has a musky rod 6'6" MH on clearance $20.00 or should I go with a downrigger rod & longer, figure on using 6oz
to 1 1/2lb weights. Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks rangerpat01@yahoo.com

You could use the ones that Cabella's - and others have where you slide the weight over the wire - just add more weights - mac is 2 oz - but I have had 3=6 oz on one.

Cabellas's number is IC-110780

Lindy has the X-CHANGE bouncer system that offers up to 3oz. weights. It's easy to get to 6 or 9 oz. with this system. Order online at the Lindy Tackle site under products/bottem bouncers.
Great sytem! Great company!

I use the lindy ex change ! You can slide a 3 Oz. on then add more! I have found you will have to keep your speed up for the weight will lay down and snag!

I looked into making some super-sized (twice as long) bottom bouncers with weights from 8-16 oz. Instead I found it easier just to make 3-way rigs and buy some big lead balls which the local tackle shop sells in sizes from 6 oz up to 16. Works good for lakers down 80-120'.

Try removing the rubber from the center of the inline sinkers and then place the sinker on the bottom bouncer wire above the original weight. Pinch the weight closed and you're in business. You can add weight by the ounce easily.
