It sounds like the same thing that happens here. A third party is handling getting it to the right people and he is adding the extra cost for his services. I think it is about 7:50 extra for him to do it. Paying for the convienence I guess. For my customers it is nice cuz we don't have to take time out for everyone to go through the line at the license agency, then phone in, wait for docks to open, Etc. I have two Ph.#'s that I picked up to call for license.

I have not tried these yet so I don't know what is involved.

I used the 800 number talked to a lady that took my info, name address city and state. credit card number and said it would be here within two weeks, she said the 7 bucks was a handling charge. oh well.

But what if the license wasn't rivetted and you dropped it in the water? Would it fly or float? Because as we all know if it's not rivetted it would do neither and your license would be gone, unless it was windy then it would mean that it was airplane as it would then fly. Is that where paper airplanes originated, or should I say paper boats? I'm so confused now I don't know the difference between an orange. But isn't one of it's legs both the same?

I received licenses for myself, my wife and my son last month and there were no handling fees. The amount charged to my card was exactly what I thought it should be with the exchange rate. Is this something they just started?

My guess is that it depends upon where you got it from. I called directly to the Ontario MNR office in Chatham, and there was never any mention of a handling fee (but I'm sure gonna check my credit card bill when it comes). I've heard from people who got their license via the 800 number, that an additional fee was charged.

SEVEN whole dollars!!! WOW that must add up to about $1.99 in U.S funds! I suppose if you don't catch any fish you'll send it back too!!! Go buy some extra rivets or something!
