Last week i was reading a lot on the net about the blue pike and how all went down.

It's very sad that the blue pike is gone,...or...

Several fishermen caught , what they say , blue pike , but experts on this say , they are just yellow pike /walleye, with a bluish tone.

Is the blue pike really gone ?

And what about the famous frozen fish , is there any breaking news on how & what with the research on dna?

Being from the Netherlands , and never seen a walleye , , blue pike or sauger, or saugeye, i think that the walleye is a beautifull fish , more so then our Zander, only the zander grows bigger.

Does any body really know if the blue pike is really gone?

No one "really knows" and no way to know until one is caught that tests positive through its DNA. But since it was declared extinct in the early 80's, and no one has caught one that tests out, chances are slim-to-none that there is one left, much less a sustainable population. People keep hoping, though.

I don't know, either. But I did hear some type of research or hype about Blue Pike being found in far northern lakes in Ontario and Manitoba. It hasn't been confirmed or denied from my experience.
