I busted a ram rod holder. Are these pieces of junk returnable?

Honestly the very first time I have ever heard of a RAM busting. Where did it break and how? They have a lifetime warranty, send it in, make a call, send an email with pics....it's covered if the material/craftsmanship failed under normal use.
