I have been running deep diving Rapala taildancers and the 600 and 800 series Reefrunner Deep divers this year. I have had good luck using blue and silver flash in DP taildancers, and Kryptonite, orange crush, purple(various) in Deep reefrunners.
What are the colors that are working best for you this year?
I mainly fished Lake Oahe this year.... YEH!!

My best colors on Oahe this year were Chrome with blue back, chrome with chartruese back and fire tiger. That was in June.

White w/ blue back had been working well on Erie into July taking some of the largest fish I had caught this year.

You guys must have great memories compared to this old coot. lol I must have a dozen or more of the large Reef Runners. I bought em and took them out of the packaging and may have looked at the name or color when I did so. Then I immediately forgot what they are called. The only one I can remember and identify is Wonderbread. The fish don't care whether I know the name or not. lol :duh:

I can't even remember the name of the person that I just met five minutes before, but I do remember the ol' wonderbread. Other than that I need to know the colors!

We have doing very, very well with ANY of the prizm type colors this year.. also we have have been adding any where from 2, 3 and yes even 4 ounces of weight(snap weights) from the basic 30 feet to as far back as 50 feet of line from the lure to snap weight to get that bait down 35 to 45 FOW...
IMO very effective in deep clear water...

yea, I have a hard time too with the names.
thouht I would be slick and label my plano boxes with the names. It worked fine until I had 6 out at once. When I went to put them back of course i probably out 1/2 in the wrong places. LOL
a buddy of mine takes a small sharpie pen and writes the name on them real small on the bill.
to me thats a bit much LOL
the ones I use all the time I can remember. its the ones I dont use a lot that I have trouble with.

Generally, I try several reefrunners and double up on the one that consistantly works best. Then I wait til I get back home and look on the Reefrunner website to match my color to a name!!! Yish.... it is tough when ya get older!!!
I did order some prisms and a few "bare naked", just had to have at least one in my tackle box.... :)

My favorite colors, for Lake Erie anyway, are Eriedescent (far and away #1 all time), Cheap Sunglasses and Wild Thing. I didn't have the Bare Naked until lately but have a high level of confidence in this color from reports of others.

Yea! I've done that before; consult the color chart when I got home from a successful journey.
Here are my go to colors:
Bare Naked, Bubble Gum, Purple Wild Thing, Eriedescent, Rainbow Trout, Watermelon, Orange Peel, Clown.
Then there are the good night colors, and the the good dirty water colors and the good clear water colors

LOL.
I do the same thing, but when I catch a bunch of fish on one I go back to the store and look on the package...and hopefully remember. The Wild Thing is one my daughter picked out to fish with, I usually don't use it.

Wow Oahe eyes seem to like a lot of these colors. In June for me it was shrimp and fried chicken. Maybe I was hungry? Going out this week and drag RR's for a few days, I've taken notes but...

I'll be on the Oahe for a week starting 8/13. I'll have to see which color they like during the hot weather.

On Erie this year Purple Wild Thing, Bare Naked, Rainbow Trout and last trip out Pearl Ghost. In past years Gold Watermelon, Fried Chicken and Bubblegum. Haven't run them much this year as the others listed have been doing so well.

We pulled the Pearl Ghost this past Sunday and I was really disappointed with all the time I had to spend taking walleye off of it. I'll be picking a few more up.

The first two days we fished out of my brother's boat and caught one walleye and one sauger each day which were released. The third day we fished out of my boat and kept four walleyes for the table. We pulled Reef Runners every day. Thursday night and Friday we received eight inches of rain with lots of lightning strikes and thunder. Saturday we went out and they had a very bad case of lockjaw. We only caught a few catfish and white bass. We fished from the Rorgo Bay area North of Mobridge to a few miles South of the Walth Bay area. The people that we talked to that were using live bait were catching only Catfish. I'll either be going back to Oahe or to Northern Manitoba in September. I'm sure the fishing would be great on the Oahe, but I love the trip to Canada and haven't been able to go for about five years.

Pearl ghost has some red under the head of the crank on the bottom and the top is what I would call a frosted look, white-ish but not clear like the bare naked, same insert though.
caught 6 fish in one day it was the only crank we had in the water out of 6 rods. did good.
