When I troll for salmon I try and set my speed from 1.8 and 2.0 but when I get below 2.1 my speed indicator on my Matrix 37 and my gps indicators both read 0.0 what are my options...thanks in advance for the help.

I'm not current but on older Lowrance/Eagle stuff, there is a setting called "position pinning". You turn it off to read lower speeds. The numbers become less accurate and "jump around" more when you get around one mph.
Clarification - Position Pinning is a gps setting and with it off, you should have decent speed readings at 1.8 mph.

Get a unit that will read temp and speed at the cannon ball, and display in the boat. Most times the speed at the boat is way off from what your lures are doing down below. From this it will also tell you current speed and direction, and were the temp breaks are.
If you set your boat speed for optimal lure action at the surface, down below it could be 1-2 mph off, fat chance of getting bit then.
I have a Depth Raider, I really like it, Cabelas has them, I would put a link to it, but that would expand the page about 6 feet.

I second the down temp, I won't leave the dock without mine. I use a moor sub-trol and love it. hard to believe what the underwater currents can do to your presentation.
