I've been using the Solunar Tables for 20 years. I've noticed more fish activity during the major and minor periods. However, this is only one factor; weather is equally important.

Agreed! I have been using them for over 30! There are other factors but the base line is they do work - IMO!

Big believer in moon phase. Seems to be a plus anytime we are fishing.
Moon rise and moon set also seem to bump the fish activity up during the day.

I prefer Doug Hannon's tide tables. His research indicates a preponderance of record fish caught during the last 3 days of the waxing moon, full moon, first 3 days of the waning moon, and the day of the new moon, (no moon). Nearly 40% of the world record fish were caught on these 8 days. With that being said, ambient environmental factors, such as pre/post frontal conditions I believe cause a greater impact on fish behavior and moon phases are just one more piece of the puzzle.

I agree, they have an effect. More so in the winter.
