Break out your crystal balls! I am heading to Huron this weekend and wondering what everyone thinks this cool down will do to the fishing. This will be my first and probably only trip to the lake this year and I am really looking forward to it. However I am a little bit worried about the wind and cool down.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

long ride from huron but the 37/28 lines have some real pigs in the school . some guys doing ok in close 25/30ft off the castle.
Bountyhunter,
I can trailer and launch from anywhere, how far East do I need to go to be closest to those coordinates, Vermilion? Lorain? I need to watch the weather I am fishing out of an 18 foot aluminum.
Thanks

Cranberry Creek would be the shortest run to those coordinates. My crew has boated some real hawgs from that area in the last few outings, as well.
Thanks Robusto, that is where we are going to launch from anyway. Hopefully the wind chills out a little or we may be looking for a plan B.

actually, and i know this may be hard to believe, but it is a shorter distance to launch from mazurick's to get to the 37/28 then launching from huron or cranberry. vermillion would be the 2nd choice. go here-

and move the cursur to 37/28 and you can visualize distances. i fished that area last saturday and debated about trailering from marblehead to vermilion but when i punched in the waypoint from mazurick's it was only like 16.5 miles.
keep in mind that both huron and cranberry are in the "bowl" and several miles further south.

bob,
thanks for that link. i used various starting points and came up with following distances to the 37/28. Mazuricks (32.4/44.5)was 15.18 miles
Cranberry ((22.5/29.5) 16.75 miles and Vermilion (25.2/22.0) was 14.55 miles. not a lot of difference, guess depends on where you are coming from and...to some extent the wind direction/wave height.

Yeah, that's a fun winter-day link LOL I moved to Vermillion cause the fish always seemed to be closer than Huron and they are about the same distance :-)
Boat is now at home port and I'm going hunting !!!! Ran it home Monday and the lake was flat, flat flat !!!! After I passed Catawaba I only saw one boat ... and eerie feeling on Erie :-)
