I am looking for a new place to take my family for a fishing vacation in Minnesota. Time frame would be anytime from June to early September. Looking for a lake with good walleye fishing - trophies not neccessary - looking more for numbers of decent fish. Perch, smallies, pike a bonus. Would need someplace with rental boats or rental boats nearby. Thinking about the Ely or Gunflint area. Not really interested in huge bodies of water. Somewhate secluded area would be a plus. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks!

Mille lacs offers huge fish in all species of fish. It is not hard at all to get into 25+ walleyes year round, and the lake has huge smallies, pike, ,uskies, and perch. Not to many fisheries offer big fish like Mille Lacs.
It isn't the most secluded lake, and is rather large. But for fisheries, it can't be beat.

Walleyes, smallies, northerns......Secluded, beautiful scenery, = Voyagaire Houseboats.......Crane, Sand Point, Namakan, and Kabatogama Lakes..All the fishing and boating you can ever want. They have rental boats of all sizes, and they really take care of the guests.

Jake,

If you want to fish a lake that fishes very big and has a nice population of walleye check out Ottertail Lake. Lynn and Holly from Vacationland Resort offer very clean affordable accomadations right on the lake. Give us a report when you get back.....

Second Ottertail, guy at work went up there last year and had a good time with his family.
Lots of fish in Milacs, but ya can't keep any of them and a 15mph wind will drive most family boats off the lake.
